I am a 100% crowdfunded writer. My work will always be free to read and share, but your support goes a long way towards my ability to continue and expand this project. If you are able, please become a paid subscriber, if not, please share this work with others.

What is this thing anyway?

The reason I started this newsletter is because I feel like we are hurtling towards a terrifyingly dark future and I wanted to give voice to my hope that we can find our way through it. This project is my way of doing that. We are ruled by terrible, awful, no good, very bad people, under a system that is pushing humanity and all life on earth to its brink. We are so propagandized and demoralized that many of us have forgotten that a better world is not only possible, but within our grasp. What I intend to do here is to talk to you about how things work, how we got here, and how we can get out.

I’ve had my ass kicked by capitalism time and time again, just like many of you. I’ve also met some amazing comrades along the way and fought back, and (sometimes) even won. I’m a socialist, a musician, an engineer, an organizer, a mother, but before I was any of that I was a writer. I still have the notebook I wrote little poems in when I was six years old. I always thought I would be a writer by trade when I grew up, but it didn’t work out that way. This space is a return to my roots, where I can talk to all of you about the problems we face, who is responsible, and where we go from here. I hope you’ll join me.

Why subscribe?

My writing will always be free to read, but if you enjoy this work please consider upgrading to a paid subscription so I can keep doing what I’m doing. Making my writing free to all is my way of modeling the world I want to see, where access to knowledge is not paywalled, where what we create is made to share. Your financial support of my work helps to ensure that I’m able to write consistently and make my work available to everyone.
